This beginner-level diploma is designed for individuals starting a career in IT infrastructure or transitioning into system administration roles. The program introduces the core components of Microsoft-based infrastructure environments, beginning with infrastructure engineering fundamentals and networking basics. Learners progress into Windows Server administration and essential services such as Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP. The course also covers file services, storage, Hyper-V virtualization, and Windows patch management, with introductory exposure to SQL Server and System Center tools. By the end of the diploma, learners gain the practical skills needed to support, operate, and maintain Windows-based enterprise infrastructure environments.

Module 0 – Infrastructure Fundamentals

Infrastructure engineering concepts, IT environments, roles and responsibilities, and networking basics.

Module 1 – Windows Server Administration

Windows Server versions, installation, configuration, and management.

Module 2 – Active Directory Services

Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), domains and forests, structure, hierarchy, and object management.

Module 3 – Network Services

Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) concepts, configuration, and management.

Module 4 – File Services and Storage

File servers, storage technologies, file sharing, permissions, and File Server Resource Manager (FSRM).

Module 5 – Virtualization

Hyper-V fundamentals, private cloud concepts, and virtual machine management.

Module 6 – Patching and Deployment

Windows updates, deployment strategies, and WSUS configuration.

Module 7 – Database Fundamentals

Database concepts and an introduction to SQL Server, including versions and tools.

Module 8 – Systems Management

Overview of the System Center family and core SCCM concepts, including configuration, updates, and reporting.

Evaluation
